Precious Metals Valuer
Location: Hertfordshire
The client receives between 60 and 100 parcels of jewellery per day.
The Precious Metals Valuer would be joining the team responsible for valuing each parcel of jewellery received. The parcels are carefully opened under CCTV and the contents itemised in the valuer’s tray. A video recording is made of the process to confirm that the number of items listed on the valuation form included in the parcel, matches the number of items received.
Each item of jewellery is examined for hallmarks, tested using either gold testing acid or the latest XRF- Scanning technology, in order to ascertain the gold purity.
The items are then individually weighed and logged onto the company CRM. If the jewellery contains gemstones, they are also logged, and any additional value is applied to the valuation.
If the parcel contains Gold Coins or Bars of Bullion, they are also verified and logged on the CRM. At the final stage of each valuation, the CRM will automatically process and calculate the valuation and then send through to the buyers’ team for each client to be contacted with their offer.
